Privacy Policy

The short version

Mirrox is built privacy-first. It connects directly to your Mac's built-in Screen Sharing service — your screen never leaves your network and never passes through a vendor relay. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no middleman servers, and we never sell your data.

Information we do not collect

Mirrox does not collect your remote screen contents, keystrokes, pointer activity, VNC passwords, your saved machine list, analytics events, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the connection details you enter — such as host names, IP addresses, ports, display names, and VNC passwords — locally on your device so you can reconnect without entering them again. Passwords are kept on-device.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, Mirrox uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage to sync your saved machine list across devices signed in to your Apple account. That synced data lives in your private iCloud container, managed by Apple under your iCloud settings and Apple's privacy terms. We have no access to it.

Network connections

Mirrox connects directly to the Mac or host you choose using VNC / Screen Sharing. To help you find Macs, discovery features use Bonjour, scan your local network for Screen Sharing hosts, and check reachability for your saved Tailscale (tailnet) addresses. These connections exist solely to provide the app's remote desktop functionality and stay between your devices.

Support requests

If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to send — such as your email address, your message, and any screenshots or diagnostic details you include. Please do not send VNC passwords or sensitive screen contents in support requests.

Third parties

Mirrox does not use advertising networks or third-party trackers. Platform services such as the App Store and iCloud are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies. Connecting through Tailscale is governed by Tailscale's own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices

You can turn off iCloud sync at any time in Settings, and you can remove all local data by deleting the app. You may request deletion of any diagnostic data you have sent us by contacting support.

Children's privacy

Mirrox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The updated version will be identified by the date at the top of this page.
